Over the course of the last school year and into this one (2018-19) CAMI continued to work with the school to implement projects that exposed youth to trade careers. The goal of the project is to give a “hands on” approach to learning. This project is meant to target the male youth of our community who have chosen the fishing industry as their career path. As a part of the expansion, Casey Clarke has been hired by CAMI to coordinate the projects activities, as well as to support the boys in working towards accomplishing their long term academic goals. Darrell Burke has also been hired to work on carpentry projects with the boys. This project is being funded by the Federal Government Department of Employment and Social Development Canada via the Community Innovation Fund.
